Rally the troops and get your posse moving!
The BT/izotope StutterEdit contest voting has begun! This track was a work of much love and effort and used the latest cutting-edge digital technology available for electronic music. This track is very important to myself and my wife, who helped work on it, with whom I am celebrating my first anniversary with today. It's one of our best brainchildren. It is a big serious deal to me, as it all my music and the joy of my listeners.

Diana Gabaldon Panel
This morning, I received an email from Diana Gabaldon in which she explained what happened concerning her non-appearance on Monday at D*C (on the AHT as well as elsewhere). Apparently, the D*C scheduling committee did not forward her the schedule as they are supposed to do prior to the show. She'd already made travel arrangements to leave on Monday, and was unable to change them--but did inform her fans by way of her blog and Twitter on the way out!
She expressed regret at missing our Monday panel, and, this is a direct quote, ...but I _am _ sorry to have disappointed anyone.

Lost and Found
Greetings, folks--I do have a very small amount of Lost and Found items.
Most were picked up the evening of the Time Travelers' Ball, but at least one item was left in the track room.
If you lost something, please email theydnic at gmail dot com and identify the item so we can get it back to you. Thanks!
Many thanks to the amazing ydnic
for putting together a wonderful track full of fun alternate history. The Pirates & Time Travelers Ball was great fun! Meehan's Pub was a perfect place to meetup. There was simply too much to do and see.
If you got any pictures from Dragoncon that are of a steampunk nature, please add them to this Flickr group so we may all enjoy them: Dragoncon Steam 2010
The Alternate History Track Thanks You!
Whether you were a staffer, a volunteer, a participant in our many events, or just a passer-by who happened upon a stray panel or two, THANK YOU ALL for coming out!
I have screened comments on this post if you wish to leave us feedback.
Again, thanks, and we will see you all in 2011!

Dragon*Con PARADE - Alt History Track
This year, once again, the Alt History Track will have a Parade presence.
We will be joined by official Dragon*Con guests the EXTRAORDINARY CONTRAPTIONS, performing live aboard their trans-dimensional road-traversing vehicle!
If you wish to join us in the Parade, follow these simple steps:
1. Visit the Alt History Track Room (Wild Wild WESTIN, International C) for our track programming, which begins at 10 AM on Friday. I will be making general announcements at the beginning of the first panel, and Parade badge ribbons will be available in the track room all day Friday. (If you can't find me, ask for Wm. MacLeod, second-in-command).
2. On Saturday, meet us at Woodruff Park no later than 9:45 AM
. Click on the lj-cut below for directions.
NOTE: the first person who arrives at the park will likely be asked to hold the place marker sign for the group. The sign will read: "ALTERNATE HISTORY/STEAMPUNK". The staging begins at about 8 am.( How to Get to Woodruff Park from the various hotelsCollapse )
NOTE: If you will be carrying any sort of prop weapon in the parade, PLEASE go to Security in the Marriott to have your weapon peace-bonded.
ALSO NOTE: No handouts/freebies/candy/flyers may be tossed to the spectators, due to City of Atlanta regulations. No commercial enterprise advertising or promotion is likewise permitted.
ALSO ALSO NOTE: This is a politics-free zone. This is also a PG-13 parade, so if you're representing the seamier side of alt history or steampunk, please cover up. :)
See you all at the show!

Word to the Wise on the Westin
The local Alt History track staff made a scouting expedition to the Wild Wild Westin yesterday afternoon after the last general Dragon*Con staff meeting.
For those who don't know where the Westin is, here is how to get there. Go to the FRONT entrance of the Hyatt. This is NOT the side that features the heinous stairs, the brand-new Habitrail, and the swimming pool...this is the entrance that lets out onto Peachtree Street.
Exit the Hyatt and turn left. Go 1 1/2 blocks. As you proceed down Peachtree, on the opposite side of the street from the Hyatt, you should be able to spot the large "WESTIN" sign. You will pass the MARTA entrance to Peachtree Center and the Food Court, and the Hard Rock Cafe. In the next block, the Westin entrance is directly across the street from Hooters, a pizza place, and a still-to-be-built BBQ joint. It is also next to Fire of Brazil (yay!) on the same side of Peachtree. There is also Meehan's Pub (even more yay!), a bit further down the block.
As you go in the front entrance of the Westin, the Alt History Track Room (International C) will be on your right and the Whedonverse Track Room (International D) will be on your left after a short flight of stairs.
(EDIT: According to sdrg
below (thanks!), the handicap accessible entrance is on the right side of the hotel facing Peachtree Street, that is, on the side closest to the Hyatt. There is currently some scaffolding there due to renovations.)
As for the Westin Ballroom, where several AH and Whedonverse track functions will be held, it is on the 8th floor, easily accessible by elevator. There is also a balcony level, accessible both by spiral staircase from the Ballroom pre-function area and also by elevator to the 9th floor.
